Jim is a trial attorney focusing his practice on the defense of personal injury claims arising from trucking accidents, including the defense of both property brokers and motor carriers, and the defense of toxic tort litigation in both federal and state courts. He has also represented owners, contractors, and subcontractors in all aspects of complex, high profile, multi-million dollar construction defect and construction injury litigation. Jim has broad experience in handling matters through trial, arbitration and appeal. Jim also serves as National Coordinating Counsel for a large automotive parts supplier with nationwide distribution, General Counsel for a trucking company, and advises several small businesses on formation and risk management.

Education, Admissions & Organizations

Jim received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Loyola University Chicago in 1998 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College Of Law in 2007. While in law school, he served as a Staff Editor on the Denver Journal of International Law and Policy.

Jim is admitted to the Illinois Bar and to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Jim is active in the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), and is a member of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel (IDC), the Defense Research Institute (DRI), and the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel.

Prior to his legal career, Jim spent nine years handling catastrophic and litigated matters for a major insurance carrier. His experience allows him to provide effective, unique and practical representation and counseling to his clients.
