Alex was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (2020), where she earned a degree in Government and Philosophy of Law, graduating with high honors. During her time at University of Texas at Austin, she studied abroad with Semester at Sea, living on a ship traveling to several countries in Asia and Africa, which sparked her initial passion for International and Admiralty/Maritime Law. She received her law degree and graduated with honors from Tulane University School of Law in 2023. Notably, while at Tulane University School of Law she received the CALI award in World Trade International Law Seminar and studied abroad in Fall 2022 at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia. She also was an active member of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal for two years. During her last year of law school, she held a senior board position and served as the Senior Online Editor for the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November of 2023.
